Compassion

then help

 

 

Compassion for others is good
if it helps to change some facts
but our future now requires
that we engage in some new acts

 

If we hope to do something about
 the problems that we face
we must find a new way to act
to improve our attitude about race

 

The country is so divided
we cannot succeed in this way
a change is certainly required
or there will be the devil to pay

 

We must learn how to trust others
who want the improvements too
so our energy isn't wasted
doing what we need to do

 

Without some sacrifice its hopeless
a requirement we must share
if we can stop hating what others do
it might someday get us there

 

By continuing a greedy stance
our lives keep going down hill
we will never have a chance
our enemies will make their kill

 

Our problem is far more serious
than the naive want to believe
we must all make some changes
survival isn't about what we receive

 

It is more about helping

those who don't understand

that giving is a first order of business

if we want to save our land
