Our Nature

Our Nature

A Poem by Sam Freeland
"

is on display

"
What is it about saying
"I believe in God"
does it also say to the listener
"I am also a human being"?

Humanity benefits from caring
giving the animal nature a boost
though animals may not care
humans are less if they don't

Its not a question of judging
what we do is only our choice
picking words to tell our beliefs
is just one way to express our voice

Behavior is much more telling
its about whom we really are
when we find a way to relate
we have become more human by far

Words that are written tell our nature
they come from inside of our mind
what we write comes from the heart
saying what we hope to find

Though rhyming is easier to read
as in songs easier to sing
the thought is more important
in what you choose to say

If there is anything you want to share
it is one way to find a friend
there is really someone listening
they will be there with help to lend

very nice poem. strong & powerful throughout. flows very smoothly. Throughout the poem you rhyme the last word of the 2nd and 4th lines in the paragraph. But in this paragraph "Though rhyming is easier to read
as in songs easier to sing the thought is more important in what you choose to say" there is no rhyme & thus the flow changes & makes it sound a bit awkward. you've worded it nicely. overall a very creative, powerful piece of art.
