Hazards

Hazards

A Poem by Sam Freeland
"

of the road

"

Swine flu is bad

it's likely that you know

But tailgating down the road

is worse than being slow

Those who can't wait

to get where they are going

Are texting and speeding

without ever knowing

That what they are doing

will cause more to die

And even more will agree

that this is no lie

If dying is your wish

you should do it alone

Just don't call 911

on your fancy new phone

If you need to use the road

show us some concern

We can do without drivers

who are strangers to learn

Some lives will be short

they won't be here again

Being only a sad memory

with obits that tell when
