and hero worship

concussions sustained in the heat of the game

make inroads on the brain

why do we permit such events to occur

in the name of hero worship

future fame and success will be forever marred

dementia will be achieved in later years

we won't be around to share in the tears

we helped in giving life

to the little dears

but they must live in their damaged state

the sporting world has willingly

tried to create

hero worship has been our goal

leading to our loss

while we are living the life we didn't have

to give our offspring fame they didn't need

brain cells will do their best

to repair the damage
