Be Prepared

Be Prepared

A Poem by Sam Freeland
"

motto for the future

"

Those who have studied history

certainly had to know

Of the countless tragic events

that have taken us in tow

Non-believers could hold

that events described were not real

Having no personal connection

the truth was impossible to feel

But loss will come again

as it had so often before

Bringing tragedy for many

so says responsible lore

The ones hurt most

will be the less prepared

But hurt will be everywhere

with sadness to be shared

Doom-sayers we are not

but we do see the light

We are tending our own gardens

with all of our might

If you hope to be ready

you might want to do this too

Educate your children

to face hard problems that are new

They will be better prepared

for the times coming soon

To face nature's changes

though they are not a pretty tune

You likely won't be here

to help them anymore

But they may survive

because you knew the score

Ah, the humans with their beliefs and desires. What could one ever want more than a green meadow for our hoves to walk in, grass to eat and a heifer to tend to?

Very good wisdom. Me and wife buy nothing and trying to save. Never know what tomorrow will bring. I tell my children. No need it. Don't buy it. I believe we need to prepare as a country. This isn't the thirties. Growth in Jobs will be hard in this new world.
A outstanding poem.
