Ode to Tiger

Ode to Tiger

A Poem by Sam Freeland
"

a better path

"

Attracted by the mysteries of life

we go our own way

Hardly considering safety

as we enter the fray

With courage being foremost

we seek a new road

Tinged with the excitement

we find in our new abode

The more we know of our history

the easier it is to see

Why we have been attracted

by the individual we wanted to be

We are descended from those

who had a similar need

The organisms of our existence

are copies of our breed

All life forms in our environment

have been engaged in this too

Repeating similar cells and bodies

in a pattern that is true

When conditions weren't favorable

offsprings couldn't survive

Their remains are in the rocks

and no longer alive

That is where we might be

if not carefully entombed

Never again a part of life

ever to be resumed

Now we should enjoy

all the living we were granted

By finding the best way we know

   to get our seed implanted
