Reflection probing memory
re-enjoy times of the past
Making sense of time spent
trying to make it last

 

So often life flitters
from one moment to the next
Trying to do it all
lacking any meaning or context

 

Building a life pattern
to last through the years
Should be the goal of life
that fills our time with cheers

 

Putting the mind to work
is only a matter of choice
Giving meaning to the effort
honoring our inner voice

 

Thinking back to the good times
refreshing early pleasure
Rewarding our serious efforts
giving time its rightful measure

 

The power of the brain to do this
is built over many a year
Begin again to concentrate
put your happy life in gear
 
As we look back so often
to all the things we've done
There will be some satisfaction
from the battles we have won

 

Though losses were many
they have made us strong
So sing a song of joy
forget about the wrong
