Living Longer

Living Longer

A Poem by Sam Freeland
"

is your choice

"
My maternal parent made it to 93
8 pacemakers helped a lot
Now with atrial fibulation
the same problem is what I've got

We live and breathe in the body
a wonder we have been given
The best we try to do with it
the longer we will have it to live in

Obviously you get the point
of what we have to do
Everything now is up to us
eating choices will be two

Eat the right food every day
and exercise a lot
Or eat all the food we like and want
an obese body won't be so hot

Hotties is the new word
a healthy body is what we need
Obesity has the appearance
of a gourmand's choice of feed

It takes some serious effort
to always eat the right meals
The reward is looking good
and the better way one feels

Words and plans are worthless
it is what we do that counts
The way we eat is what matters
and its always about the amounts

Looking good and living longer
will happen if you stay in shape
For anyone who doesn't do this
from an earlier end there is no escape
