Surviving

one life and forever

It may be a struggle to learn
what survival requires
but we know its a major concern

 

When the end does arrive
we may not like what this means
because its better being alive

 

For thousands of days
we took everything for granted
leaving wasn't something to praise

 

Though not choosing to discuss
what the future will hold
 it will certainly happen to us

 

The struggle to live doesn't mean
being guaranteed more days
such gifts have never been seen

 

There is much one can do
to realize a bit more time
 the choices and acts are up to you

 

Don't look for a magic word
that will change all the rules
 pleas for more time won't be heard

 

Finding changes to make
to extend the time we have
may give us a better break

 

When all of our time has run out
we will still be in the universe
this there has never been any doubt

 

For the rest of time we will be
in the company of long lost friends
finally and forever being free
