Endgame

Endgame

A Poem by Sam Freeland
"

and the last years

"
Advocating longevity
could be about living too long
If such be in your future
you will experience the wrong

Reaching a comfortable end
is a better way to go
You cannot go on forever
you surely must know

Work at relationships
with others like you
To give meaning to long life
for their happiness too

When we were young
longevity was never an issue
Every day was a joy
it was not about miss you

Missing the past
arrives as an unwelcome surprise
As in those events
we were caught telling lies

Planning your future
is like writing a poem
It calls for a search for words
about not being alone

You know you will get
exactly what you deserve
What you do every day
will build your future reserve

If one does not delay
in creating their plan
They might miss the loneliness
let's hope that you can
