Spontaneous Remissions

Spontaneous Remissions

A Poem by adrawerwithholes

Carcinogenic vampires

tried to claim me last night

They kissed me good night

Impregnating me

with nightmares

and misery

then they went away

as I exhaled the nicotine of a cigarette

but the mutilated memories

by my mind were kept

for a while longer until sensations vanished

leaving me with broken bones

and fractured members

my beating heart was tarnished with a strong fear

Even though I've forgotten about it now

From time to time

I can still hear them,

I can still remember them,

They sought me for a mother

and I claimed them as my children
