The Purest Form Of LoveA Poem by poetforlife
Where did you go in the stillness of the night Why did you run away and let your heart take flight Try as I may, I can never win the fight No matter how I love you, I can’t make it right. The choice was up to you And you chose to walk away All the crying in the world Will never make you stay Something broke inside you That I could not repair It doesn’t mean I don’t ache for you And want you to know I care. As badly as you’ve hurt me My heart still cares for sure I have the rarest love for you Forgiving and so pure Though many think I’m crazy And you don’t deserve my love I know God understands it And He’s watching from above I’m begging for His mercy So this pain will go away I ask Him to watch over you As you stumble and you stray I can forgive you Place the hurt up on a shelf But the greatest gift you can give you Is for you to forgive yourself. Don’t let your mistakes in life Torment you to your end Embrace this life you’re given And begin to live again. Cause the pain and regret will eat you Like an acid to your core Strip away your humanity Til you’re a shell, nothing more. My wish for you is life and love And a joy you can’t contain My mind surrounds with memories of you So I can let go of the pain. I love you,my sweet baby Nothing can take that away I pray God’s blessings on your life For all the rest of your days. © 2009 poetforlifeReviews
