Thoughts of a heartsick dreamer

Written as I was in a sad state of mind one night

Once again I fall asleep

With a heavy mind

And a heavy heart

I feel I do not measure up

I don’t know where to start

I try to give you the world…

Just for a smile…

But most often I am left in silence

I know you care

I know your there

But sometimes…

It feels like I’m talking to a ghost

Every action

Every cry for attention

Met only by silence

Or another sad sigh…

It seems my roses

My affections

Are only received by reflection

And that all I give is thorns

I don’t want a light to die

….just as its born

I don’t know what to do

I don’t know what to say

All I know…

Is that I want you…

To stay.

And believe me when I say…

I believe in you 

…I love you

Your happiness may not be my “job”

But it is my quest

Because for you

I would pass any test

Just to see that smile

So stay…

Just for a little while
