Forever Brothers Together

A poem I wrote based on one of my favorite television shows, Prison Break, and also written for a friend, who is the biggest Prison Break fan of them all.

brothers forever entwined

but hope just out of reach

never rain shall fall on these

never salvation breach

brothers alone and forgotten

of long roads stretched on open palms

of endless walking

ensue the fateful psalms

of two who do not belong

brothers, forever wayward brothers

of stories told when they were young

of thunder struck in lieu of light

of songs aloft them never sung

brothers forever heartless, fearful, loved

of childhood glazed and sorrows swallowed

therein shadows, demons' brink behind closed eyes

and laughter often never followed

but brothers forever to be together

lost beneath a yawning sky of sparkling teeth
