my dearest jack

my dearest jack

A Poem by Lacka-Day

hope is all that guides us

when we are forced to close our eyes.

it is what lead me to you then,

and it is what calls me from you now.

words cannot express how sorry

i am for leaving without a word,

but please know that i did it for us.

we were drifting. you cannot deny it.

we barely had the heart to look at

one another anymore.

i know it's not your fault.

it's neither of ours.

two choices were laid before us,

and we chose. oh, we chose

it was a decision. not a wrong one ...

but one that began the descent of what

we had spent all our energy building.

and i am desperately sorry.

desperately trying to find a solution.

desperately hoping the paths that we

have chosen one day cross yet again.

hope, jack. please hold on to your hope.
