When the universe whispers-
I fade into shadows, sobbing
Echoing softly after the moonlight,
Crying out in desire-

Still it passes by-
Oblivious to the rivers below,
I fall silent, cradling my heart,
Bowing my head in defeat,

I am disappearing, my love,
Where the Moon beams don't reach,
Slinking into the night-
Embraced by the cold touch of the abyss

I was always there at your side,
Drifting aimlessly for you,
Alas- unnoticed
Withering away from your memory-

In comatose, in dreams, 
Remember me....

i agree with R.E. on the unrequited love idea, which i do see here...but my reading was totally different.

i read how nature has been abused by us...and just forgotten, unappreciated for what she has given us.
and she cries for that....for us...and because of our abuse of her, she is falling into the shadows, the abyss...ruination...
and understands that we will miss her greatly when she is gone.
we are comatose...in our disregard.

One of the best poetic descriptions of unrequited love I’ve read on here. You’ve captured the darkness, loneliness and despair, that black hole in our own head that swallows us. Comatose is an ideal word... drawn into ourselves, shut out from the world, or at least the one we love.
