Ocean's Eye

Vibrant life of the sundry seas,
Mimics within my heart,
I beg of you, a gentle plea,
Do not tear it apart.

At times it glows with red and blue,
Flecked with yellow and green,
Currents and feelings flowing through,
My waves are strong and keen.

Looking out through my ocean’s eye,
I peer into the soul,
It’s troubled waters rising high,

Spilling through cracks and holes.

Down into the darkest abyss,
Strange aliens are found,
But even there's a glow, a kiss,
Light floating all around.

I long for a Pacific time,
Where it's shallow and warm,
Instead of Arctic, chill with rime,
Freezing my heart’s tired form.

But even in the coldest lake,
With danger all around,
A place where God seems to forsake,
There's a light to be found.

So rest your weary, somber mind,
In Tropics of your heart,
Where all is calm and bright and kind,
And fish paint briny art.

Stay where all is clear to the eye,
Calm as a shallow beach,
Where the shushing waves softly sigh,

And only bliss can reach.

I just thought that, in many ways, our hearts are just like the ocean. :)
