A Wish

A Wish

A Poem by Katie Lynn
"

Just a little tidbit, I reckon.

"

I breathed a wish into my hands,
Standing beside the sea,
I pulled it close against my heart,
And dropped onto one knee.

I let my tired eyes open,
To stare up at the sky,
And watching the silver-lined clouds,
They drifted slowly by.

I closed my eyes tightly again,
There by the ocean’s side,
I opened my hands and let go,

My wish into the tide.

It floats across the currents now,

Deep out there in the blue,

I know inside my fervent heart,

It will, one day, come true.

Short, powerful & wonderful couldn't ask for more.

Loved the flow.
