I TraveledA Poem by Katie LynnTo the ends of the Earth<3I traveled once through a meadow bright, Filled with the radiance of light, And watched as oft' the birds took flight, To hide away from my sharp sight.
I paused a moment but traveled on, Kept on traveling from dusk 'til dawn, Towards an end to which I was drawn.
I traveled well in the afternoon, And traveled still by light of moon.
I passed the seaside large and clear, Sensing my goal grow ever near, My smile stretched wide from ear to ear.
I later rested beneath an old limb, I stooped to pick flowers by their stem, This was done by only a whim, But I kept on picking most of them.
I walked for miles but never grew tired, Weariness never, from my steps, sired, But all my passings I'd admired.
I traveled so far across the land, Through wooded valley, desert sand.
The flowers lived in my small pocket, As I traveled through the tropics.
I traveled the world both far and wide, And never once did I break stride, I reached His cottage mountainside.
I loved Him so from journey's start, I'll love Him regardless apart, I'd pay the price for priceless art, So long as still He holds my heart. © 2016 Katie LynnAuthor's Note
