The Power's Out

The Power's Out

A Poem by Savoy

My mind tired
The lights are out
Darks come all over
Soul filled with self doubt

One mission left
Away let sorrow sail
Just one more drink
It's my last night in jail

Only one more meal
And a final swig of Jin
The last supper?
God forgive my sin

Rains falling outside
A shot of lightning
The bang of thunder
It all seems quite frightening

A knife from the shadow
A stab in the back
My body goes stiff
And my mind falls slack

My body grow cold
Lying on the ground
Out comes the blood
And to think I was chair bound

A little more pain
A couple minutes more
I whisper her name
My hearts feeling sore

With eyes growing heavy
There goes the church bell
Than a silent whisper
Welcome to hell
