I can't imagine Not being able to read Or to see words on a page And form pictures in my mind Because it's beautiful and poetic I can't imagine Not being able to write To see my words written in real time And to watch pen bleed against paper Because it's beautiful and poetic I can't imagine Not being able to breathe Losing these two parts of myself I'd be a suffocating poet imprisoned in mind and soul Wouldn't that be, tragically, a poetic death?
