Lie if I must

What is it you lie for?

You see through my lies 

Without having to look at my eyes

That is how much you know me

You know how I would avoid yours sheepishly

For I would always hide how I feel

And yet you are patient with me still

I would think to myself, "I do not deserve you"

Without even hearing it, you assure me that I do

You always know what I am thinking

Without having to say anything

So it did not surprise me when I saw you leaving

After I said that I hate you with all my being

You knew that I was lying, but you also knew what I was trying to say

I truly believe that you deserve better, so that was the only way.....
