It Isn’t Always the First ImpressionA Poem by SayreFor the most part, it holds a 3/4 [3/8?? if thats possible] count starting at "that we took". just another "woe is me" poem. Comments are LOVED. Criticism is MORE THAN LOVED. Thanks for reading. What happened to the love that we had During the time that had passed Between the drama and laughs Controversial talks, and miscellaneous walks That we took, that we had To escape all the facts And retreat, to escape all monotonous tasks And after so many years that I’ve watched you grow old And you’ve watched me grow young, As the story unfolds. All of the tears that I cried, or at least that I’ve tried Now’s the time, it’s begun, I’m losing all self-control You told me to grow up, so I did Now you’re mad, and I’m pissed Happiness can’t exist in a place where we can’t co-co exist. All of this, doesn’t mean that we’re far beyond having it fixed. I tried to do my best To impress you, like the rest, Nonetheless I apologize for failing that test What happened to the love that we had During the time that had passed Between the drama and laughs? Understand this situation Is to real for a mask As I plead don’t make me ask For complete isolation dad. © 2010 Sayre |
