Vibrance

Vibrance

A Poem by ScaredSilent

I can't help but feel thirsty in
Your presence
The tingling in my fingers
Guiding me to your bed of dust
It's a scratching in my throat
A whisper in my ear
And I watch the days go by
Where the sun touches your leafless body
So poised once were you
Full of grace
Vibrant in your life I
Could walk into the room and know instantly your smile
But dead plants speak no more
And not even a funeral you are given
For your beauty is often unobserved
To that of the trees
The pain in my head is
the only reminder of your life now
The only memory of your happiness
Drilling away at my grey matter
A hopeless interlude
To what's to come
A disaster
A Mess
A defiance to what it means
To be alive for a lifetime
What is a lifetime
To a plant?
If not the cycle of sun and moon
If they call a lifetime
The water carving its way around rock and root
The sun arching across the sky
The ingenious swirling pattern of leaves
The hand ready to burst through soil
I will comfort you
As you have comforted me
I will lie with you as you have sung me to sleep
And I will nurture you
As you have nurtured me
I will find no greater love
Than that of your voice
As it caressed the branches
Of countless trees
I will find no greater support
Than that of your eyes on my soul
So I will know you
Little plant
For surely you know me

Lovely, just lovely. I mourn the loss of trees. I hate it when a plant dies. I hate decaying roses, they make me feel so sad. Your poem reminded me. Thank you.
