Memories

A Poem by Scarlett Letter

On This Broken Piano I Play

A Sad Tune and Melody

Hoping That Maybe Someone Might Stay

And Listen to My Symphony

And As I Play I Remember

All the Times That We Had

Your Just One Little Ember

That Fans The Flames and Makes Me Mad

And Trapped in All My Memories That Are Long Forgotten

Sit All The Pain and Hurt That Ive Always Felt

You Took This Perfect Apple and Made it Rotten

You Made This Perfect Heart Melt

The Pain May Still Linger

But You Are So Far Gone

I Will Continue to Point A Finger

Now I look At the Dawn

And I Greet it Even More

I Stand There in the Summer Breeze

Similar to Before

Standing Near the Trees

But This Time

I'm Smiling

This Time

The Piano Continues Playing

and My Song Doesnt End

I like this. I can almost hear the echo of a piano playing in some empty chamber; being played by a living ghost -- a person dwelling in times long since passed. Everyone has gone off, moved on, but she lingers to play her sad melody for anyone who should care to hear it.
