I don't want to wake up alone

absence makes the heart long

Another sleepless night 
in our room
with the lights
turned off
so I can’t see
what’s missing,

but I can still feel
the empty space
where you
used to lay
and wrap
your arms around me.

You held me as I 
fell asleep in your arms
every night

then I would wake
to your beautiful face
every morning

and I took it all for granted.

Now I can’t sleep
because I don’t want
to wake up alone.

This poem you made is my favorite. Primarily because it describes what I myself am going through right now.
I love it for someone finally found the words to these feelings, but I also hate it because it strikes a cord within that hollow part.
