Introduction

I wrote you a peom
with no inhibitions,
no hyperbole or grand conciet,
just words on paper
they didn't rhyme.

I wrote you a poem
and hid it away,
a leaf of golden prose buried
beneath an Everest of matrices
and Macbeth notes.

I wrote you a poem
that no one could see.
Raw,naked, honest, private
Decendant description
of skin and muffled sighs.

I wrote you a poem
and by the fifty-fourth draft
I was drowning in the words
I had planned to dedicate to you
my love.

I wrote you a poem,
I lost it.
