WildfireA Poem by NicoleMy way of saying goodbye
You're like a wildfire.
I can't see through your smoke, And know not which way you turn. In one moment you favor the sky, Climbing the trees to reach her, And in another you crawl at the ground and burn my feet. Your flames grow twelve stories high, And turn my skin the loveliest shades of red. You pull out the me that lies just below the surface. The heat rubs at my ams and pulls me in, Daring me to dance with my devils. I know there is nothing you can promise me but burns, But I cannot take my eyes off of you. You make me a pyromaniac, You beautiful, beautiful beast. Will you never be tamed? Because if you must, Please, not in my lifetime. I never wish to see that. You leave in your wake ashes upon ashes, And I know that one day, Your charcoal will be used for a masterpiece. What seems to be destruction now, Is in reality the purest kind of fury. I let your flames tattoo my skin with scars, Because I understand, This won't last forever. © 2013 NicoleFeatured Review
