Earth Shaking

Earth Shaking

A Poem by Samantha Lay
"

The Earth and events within it.

"
The earth shakes beneath my feet everything seems to screech to a full stop. So many belongings completely destroyed, why was Mother Earth shaking all round? Hours pass by but nothing's the same, I can feel it within my bones something has changed. The ground opens up with one big jolt, swallow whole all within my site. Is this all a dream a nightmare of sorts? A lonesome tear falls down my cheek hitting the ground like one last heart beat. With just that one tear it all becomes clear there must be a cleansing or our land will perish with her one last breath. Just beyond where the world opened up a forest still stands completely untouched. Animals of all kinds come out of hiding looking as though they knew the whole time. I blink with such surprise when I open my eyes the land is completely renewed. Such a beautiful site like nothing seen before, why am I the only human left in this place a simple question it has to be fate. Every animal was getting along playing like kids, just running around. An eagle soared high above my head enjoying the cleanest air that has ever been. I stop for a moment to take it all in, enjoying the sites of what both Mother Nature and Mother Earth had intended. A women steps out from behind a tree but wait this is no ordinary women at all. She stands there about six feet tall, smiling and laughing making me want to fall. I can't explain how it felt when she looked my way because I fell straight down never to be seen again.
The woman I spoke of was what one would call "true natural royalty" she is oh so strong.
