in a drunken splendor, we spotted a star
a distant planet, across the sky, so far
we created a world that's real and true
where a lonely girl is waiting for you.
maybe right now she's sleeping softly
when i'm hoping her arms could be around me
or maybe they're hours and hours ahead
living their lives when we're alone in bed.
she's working hard, she's living well
she'll have a tale or two to tell
these lonely times won't last, my friend
she'll find her way here in the end.
she's getting her license soon enough
but before that day it will be pretty tough
and if we're good, if we do what's right
she could be coming to earth tonight.
