love

is selflessness

they told me.

well i say

i've loved

and

wanted them

always

close to me.

even when they didn't want to be.

feel guilty,

for not seeing

enough

to make me worthy.

of a kind of fleeting love,

that transcends

the bond

of friends.

and even now,

i see

the only love

is trying to force needs.

so i don't want to be loved.
