the day that the rain cameA Poem by sea lily
the day that the rain came,
i got lost in my own city. stood huddled ragged, drooping feathers under the safety of a stranger's roof. sid, you poked holes in my serenity. fiddled with computer science over cider. gazed over clouds of smoke. hair like an old rope down my back bruised from the floor. the day that the rain came the day that my heart reigned the day i traded ten queens to get home safe. © 2010 sea lily |
