A Poem by S€H@J
"

This poem is based on life of a person from a different nation ie: my imagination

"
I smiled at my boss with my teeth and my soul,
He said, “Keep up the grind!” so I ate a light pole.
I water my plants with leftover tears,
They’re growing quite well " been thriving for years.

I jog in the morning to outrun the dread,
But somehow the dread has a scooter instead.
My alarm says, “Rise!” and my brain says, “Why?”
Then I scroll for 2 hours just learning to cry.

My fridge holds a carrot, a vibe, and old sauce,
I call it “self-care” and pretend I’m the boss.
My dreams tried to text me " I left them on read,
Now they just send memes like: “You good?” (I said 😃)

I paid for a course that was “Life-Changing™,”
Now I just change tabs while my hope’s rearranging.
My funeral’s booked at a quarter to noon,
But I’ll probably be late " like, next Wednesday-ish soon.

Yet here I still sit, in this spinning desk chair,
Existing on vibes, with existential flair.
And as my screen freezes, I whisper much bolder:
"All the remaining systems will bow to the First Order."

Featured Review

As I read through this poem, I couldn't help but feel a sense of kinship with the your experiences. There's something about the way you capture the absurdities of everyday life, the existential crises, and the desperate attempts to find meaning that feels relatable.

I loved the way you wove together humor and melancholy, creating a tone that's both witty and poignant for example: The image of eating a light pole after being told to "keep up the grind" . But beneath the humor, there's a deeper truth that resonates – the feeling of being stuck in a rut, unsure of how to break free.

The way the poem tackles themes of consumerism and the commodification of self-improvement, The line about the "Life-Changing™" course felt like a clever commentary on the way we're sold promises of transformation, only to find ourselves still stuck in the same old patterns.
