Night In DayA Story by RivaxorusAn old storyNight in Day By:Abby Lawless Prologue Have you ever seen an eclipse? I always thought that my generation will never get to see one if we stay in California. Boy, was I ever wrong. All I had to do was go to school and have one of the Shadow Breaker Council block the sun with the moon to gain power. That kind of thing seems like it happens everyday, doesn't it? I guess not. But it does for me, and maybe for you as well. Especially if you're a Keeper, like me. Chapter 1 My name is Abby Lawless. I'm 13 years of age and I'm human, for the most part. I'm what is called a Keeper, which is a human whose DNA has been mutated with one particular gene. I have a special watch that lets me do things others could not do. I have the useful ability to come back to life indefinitely, as long as I fulfill the simple task of picking someone worthy to train with me to become stronger during my life. But that's not what this story is about, is it? This world is one messed up place. There are different dimensions all around us, and none of them are exactly the same. Our dimension, since the only known life supporting planet is Earth, is named that as well. Each different dimension has a different dominant species living there; most have more than one planet, galaxy, or even universe, but in most cases, only one planet can sustain life, like Earth. There are more dimensions than anyone can count, probably more than a million unidentified ones. Those are the ones that haven't attacked Earth yet. Even so, there are a few that are well known. Earth is obviously one, and Tosheba for example, a Wolf Shifter planet, is another. Yes, I said Wolf Shifter planet. Earth is the most likely to be the victim of a full scale attack, since it's one of the few left where the main population is unaware of the current Shadow Breaker invasion. There was more to theft to the Shadow Breakers, but they had a hard reputation that was hard to overlook for enslaving planets in other dimensions and selling them. They even used the creatures who inhabited the captured dimensions as slaves for customers. The most aggressive universes are the ones that are home to Shadow breakers, Tai and the clones. The clones, though, would be saved for another story. To train to be a Keeper, you have to get noticed and recommended by an existing Keeper. That's just the first step. Then you have get into the “academy”, a secret underground organization dedicated to training kids to defend the dimensions that were under attack.. The Earth force is so large, the underground academy is spread out across the planet. We could've picked any other safe world to train on, but the Director figured it was the safest planet to hide us on, since in the event of an attack, the Shadow Breakers would be so busy plotting its downfall that they wouldn't look for us. Who knew that she was so smart? It was a good decision, because we haven't been caught yet. Shadow Breakers are unintelligent yet evil creatures that have no true form. The average Shadow's body consists of darkness and shadows that constantly rearrange themselves. If I had to say the closest thing you could imagine them as, they seem almost like three-dimensional shadows. In their natural black forms, most Shadows are strong enough to defend themselves nicely, but each one has the ability to take over living beings, cruelly trapping them in their own bodies, disabling them to only being capable of watching through their eyes as the Shadow Breaker controls their life.
There are 3 main ranks in their society: the workers, the body thieves, and the Council. The Shadow Council members are the ones we mostly look out for. The Council, unlike the rest of the Shadows, are highly intelligent and work together to plan invasions. There are 100 Council positions in the Shadow Breaker ranks. Numbers 1-50 make up the weaker ones, while 51-100 are more powerful and vicious. The most mysterious, and apparently the leaders, are 90-100. Those ten never show their faces to anybody but each other. Well, they've never shown their faces to anyone else who still lives. Every Council member has taken over a body of their choice, so they rarely will accept non-Shadow Breakers into the Council due to the temptation of stealing the body for themselves. It scares me, but because of the past I've had, it's not the worst thing I've seen. I was never really one to go all out with my powers. I was afraid of hurting those around me, but I would still use them in case of emergencies. But after I fell in love with a man named Sora, that changed. I didn't know what he was; all I know was he came from a dimension that was ruled by the shadow breaker. I was weak then, and I almost always needed his help. That is, I did until he betrayed me. I'm always thankful Jayden came along; if she hadn't, I would have never found out it was Sora who betrayed me in the first place. The Council had heard about his relationship with me, and they sentenced him to erase my memory. The punishment, if he failed to finish the job, was death. Sora loved me, but he didn't want me to die. Before he did, the Council wanted to try an experiment with me. They had been testing a artificially created breed of Shadow Breaker that, when injected into its victim, would take absolute control and increase their strength to incredible levels. When it was injected in me, I killed my family, taking on the power of many thousands. The only one who survived was Mina, my little sister. After I managed to control the Shadow Breaker inside, I ended up losing my memory. Broken and torn, I somehow ended up on a devastated planet. Jayden, the last of her kind still living, found me there. Jayden was a tiger, a spirit tiger. Known to be one of the most intelligent races, her species had been killed in a bloody fight between the Keepers and the Shadow Breakers fighting over the planet. Caught in the middle of the war, they were killed by Keepers as well as Shadow Breakers. For some reason, she still chose to help me. Today, I still wonder why she would do that. Jayden trained me to become stronger, and eventually joined the Academy as one of my captains.
In the Keeper Academy, there were five squads, not including the directors. There were five senior Keepers, and under each of them there were two captains and one junior Keeper. The rest were all just subordinates. Over time, when I turned 10, she finally told me what had happened. I had thought my family was murdered by the Shadow Breakers when all along it was all Sora's fault. Jayden warned me about how hatred could consume my soul if I wasn't careful. Ignoring her, I went off to find Sora. After I did, I locked Sora in an empty dimension and made everyone forget (except Jayden and I) who he was and that his prison dimension ever existed. I eventually recovered some scattered memories, but it was still all a blur. It was certain, though, that I had killed my family. That was when I dedicated myself to not letting anyone else die in front of me. I became stronger, eventually surpassing Jayden. Because the Shadow Breaker showed me what I was capable of, I will never, ever, EVER show my true power because nothing good ever comes out of it. So, no thanks to him, my power has been cut in half. Even after all this time, that Shadow Breaker is still locked up inside of me, too weak to gain control, but far from gone. I fear that someday it will escape and hurt someone again. Chapter 2 I was writing a letter to the director, sending it in about how I was bored of getting no missions for my team lately. It was making me restless, since summer break for school was almost over I wanted to do something besides trying to find some pet fire breathing cat a Wolf Shifter had lost. I clicked off the window I was on and checked the time. It was only about midday and I was getting a bit bored. Almost completely forgetting about something. “Aren't you forgetting something?” I jumped swinging my chair around to see Anthony. Anthony was my boyfriend, yeah you might think it's ridiculous you had a boyfriend at 8 let alone 13. Well, I've never felt like this around anybody, not even Sora, who I tried my hardest to forget about. Anthony was only a bit taller then me, with dirty blond hair and strange Christmas eyes. He was human, so the most part I knew of. “Oh, it's Rebecca's birthday I completely forgot!” I exclaimed jumping out of the chair. Rebbecca was one of my best friends, she was probably the second youngest keeper compared to me. She knew a lot of spells and whatnot, she mostly was hanging around Phoenix. It was like the fire angel was Rebecca's babysitter or something. Anthony grabbed me and pulled me back by the arm. “Ow that hurts” I said, so he loosened. I guess he wanted to tell me something. “Don't forget about your sister, she has been waiting for you to see Striker this entire summer. He's getting big so you better hurry” he said. I understood. Mina was a small 8 year old girl who loved to tame dragons. She had short blond hair and no freckles, she reminded me of an angel. Yet, looking nothing like me, it was obvious she was only my Half sister. Having a different dad then me. Striker was her new dragon, even though I was not really interested in those type of dragons anymore. It was more of my inner world stuff powers with Arashi and Yuki. Anthony grabbed me and hugged me, “I'm going I'm going” I said as I headed out the door towards the backyard. Today was going to be exciting, not to mention. The Wolf Shifters were going to my school this year, yet that was another matter though. Chapter 3 I pulled on my gloves and put my dark brown hair in a ponytail. My hair was hard to handle since it was so fluffy and thick. I always wore my uniform under my normal clothes. Everyone in the keeper academy was required to wear a uniform matching their rank. The only big difference that the keepers had was on the shoulder of their uniform was their personal symbol. Then on the right chest piece there was the academy symbol. While in the normal uniforms it only had the academy symbol. The uniforms you got the colors of the squad you were on. My team was a blue and black color with purple stripes on the sides. Phoenix's was red and black, including that the higher ranks wore feathers in their hair. Then Kido's team wore purple and black. Rebecca's were scarlet and black and the last keeper position was currently open so their team members did not wear the uniforms. And if you were part of the directors squad you wore black gray and the symbol was gold, making them were gold feathers in their hair for royalty almost like. I put on a gray t-shirt and left my uniform pants showing. Looking over I grabbed my watch and put it on cloaking it in invisibility over my leather gloves. Walking out of the bathroom I put on my tennis shoes and zipped up my backpack. Mina was already over at school, since her school finished an hour before mine, I had Coal pick her up one of the many Wolf Shifters I knew. It kind of creped me out how Wolf Shifters and Vampires were the most common species on earth besides human. Not counting the fact I did not know any vampires in my town, yet. Pulling the straps from my backpack to be tighter my pocket on my pants started to vibrate. I almost dropped my backpack but then put it on my back I reached into my backpack and pulled out my phone. It was a Android from Verizon. Looking at it, it was Anthony called so I answered it and pulled it to my ear opening the door. “So where are you?” I lifted my ear from the phone taking it off of speaker and put it back. “Walking to the bus stop, I Want to stretch my wolf legs, it's been awhile” I said. I was not going to go on the bus, I didn't really like it much. The reason why I had my uniform and my backpack tight on was so when I shifted my uniform would be on as well as my backpack. “Alright, Me and the boys will be on the bus so see you later” Anthony hung up on me and I returned my phone to my pocket. My leather jacket kept me from getting too cold or too hot. It was made for me only by Jayden, she was sort of like a mother and all to me but yeah. Keepers are mainly human. They can shift though, they can be Wolf Shifters lycans anything. But if a keeper becomes to obsessed with this power, there is an order that everyone in the academy must hunt them down and kill them. Yet, only keepers were allowed to do the final strike because if a keeper kills a keeper they can not be brought back to life. The desert reminded me of home, because I liked the heat here. It was fairly warm today so it made me kind of happy in some ways. I had my eyes closed as I started walking down the street, then suddenly a hand pushed against my shoulder. I grabbed it in an instant and pulled it around to pull whoever closer. Into a arm lock. I opened my eyes to find it was Toboe, Carissa and Alyssa. All of them part of the Wolf Shifter pack that I hung out with. They were not part of the academy, but they still believed in what was right most of the time. “Oh sorry Toboe” I said letting go letting him rub his arm. “8th grade year is a drag, I'm gonna tell you that” Carissa said crossing her arms. Alyssa shyly just stayed at her sisters side, holding onto her shirt. Alyssa was a runt, she almost looked like me, with long brown hair and green eyes. She had a small wolf form, but her agility was great. Carissa on the other hand was a hard knock Wolf Shifter was was as stubborn as ever. With her long blondish green hair and her pale white face. Not to mention she was tall enough to be 16. Toboe though, was the newest one not being the leader. He was a runt, with short light brown hair. And a red bracelet that was metal. His wolf form was like mine, a normal big dog one. Yet, I could turn into a dragon if I chose to, I didn't really bother with that though, not ever since the indecent with Sora. We started to walk again, in a line, well sort of. Toboe was next to me and Alyssa and Carissa were behind me. I held onto the straps of my backpack, “So how are all of you” I said trying to break the silence. Carissa didn't like me much so she really just ignored me with a snort. “Well, uh, than says I'm doing good” Toboe said. Nathan was the new leader of the pack. Ever since Bracken had joined the academy he had been banished. I was not part of the pack, but I knew why they hated the keepers. They trusted me, but they were afraid they would be betrayed like Denite did. That was the old leader of the open keeper squad. Denite had been the only keeper that was not human for the most part. For the most part he was a shadow breaker. Only part human. He had been the only one like that to be excepted into the keeper academy let alone be a keeper. He was a noble mad or so some thought, but it was often he over used his powers. He became a Wolf Shifter and lost his memory at one point helping out Bracken with the pack. He betrayed them though, making them lose their trust in keepers and the academy. All of them vowed never to be friends with one. Yet, I really would not betray them and they knew that from the start I met them. Bracken was part of my team now though, so they trusted him, but they would never let him back into the pack since he was dating Liliana one of my best friends in the whole world. “Really, you think you'll go up a rank soon, because I think he should at least take you out of the Omega section” I said, then Carissa grabbed me and lifted me up to her face. Almost choking me. “We will decide what's best for him, not you” She hissed then let me down and continued walking Alyssa following close behind. I blinked for a few moment and then slowly started walking behind the three of them. Carissa, I wondered why she hated me so much. We got to the edge of the road. The cars passed by as we took a turn and headed into the desert. When we were far away enough we shifted to our wolf forms. Mine was the only one with the uniform and the backpack on. My form was a bit weirder then a normal one though. I was like a light beige color with a darker brown color across my chest paws and under belly. With a long tail and dark illuminated purple eyes. Carissa's was a bit bigger then mine, from her dimension she was born from the tall plains, she was just tall enough to look over tall grass. Which was about one foot taller then a normal 3 foot wolf. She was a brown wolf mixed with black and dark amber eyes, with hair that hung over her face and it was long. Being a dark black color as well.
Toboe's was a dark brown wolf then the lower down part was a lighter brown. He was just a bit smaller then me with his red bracelet on his right paw. Then there was Alyssa, a cute white wolf with a blue moon marking at the edge of her eye. How we avoided being seen was, well, many people thought we were just large dogs, or coyotes. Things like that, it was pretty easy when w mostly had natural colors unless you were Carissa with a long piece of hair hanging over her face. We started running, and Wolf Shifters, they ran up to 100 miles per hour. I decided to beat them to school, which would be easy if you knew what I called the flash step. It was hard enough to learn how to see those who could see it let alone use it. Everything around me suddenly stopped, Toboe was stuck leaping into mid air, so it was almost like the matrix at this point. I swung side to side, like teleporting from two feet to five feet everywhere. In a few minutes I was on the roof of the cafeteria at school. Everything started up again and I shifted back to human jumping off the roof and no one really noticed as I walked down the ramp towards the back of the quad in the normal hang out place of me and my normal human friends. Anthony glomped me suddenly startling me with a hug. He held my hand as we started up towards the back. When we got there I looked around. A large tree stood on a small hill. The stone wall got higher further down we normally sat at the short end though. As Miranda walked off the bus she headed for our direction. Me and Anthony were not bothering to wait for the other wolves. “Miranda” Miranda looked at me and Anthony but then continued walking, straight for the tree. I went to warn her but never got to finish. She hit the tree. “Watch out for the tree” I whispered to finish my sentence. Anthony gave a little laugh as Miranda tried to blow it off like nothing had happened, his dirty blond hair falling over his face. Miranda walked up to me, “Who's that” she asked pointing to Anthony. “This is my boyfriend Anthony moss” I said as he did some little bow thing to her. Miranda me and Anthony stayed silent for a few moments. Then she looked at me and smiled, “Okay, I'm gonna go” she said and walked off. Anthony looked at me and laughed, “I think I scared her” he whispered. I punched him in the chest to shut up about it. The other Wolf Shifters showed up fairly fast. There was Quill, Quin, Nathan and Carissa, Toboe and Alyssa now next to me and Anthony. “So your going to introduce us right?” Quill asked as he came up to me and Anthony. I rolled my eyes at him and sat down on the wall. Toboe was fairly quiet, then again him being from japan everyone thought he was weird. Toboe actually meant howling. “Hey Abby, what's the name of this school again?” Nathan asked playing with his phone as usual. I really could care less what he did. “Pinion mesa middle school” I told him. With a simple nod he turned off his phone and put it away. What was up with that kid in the first place.
My normal human friends finally showed up, Zack and Lillian, almost surprised who I was with. I said hi and they said hi back. After they all settled, Aaron, Sasha, Lillian, Liliana, and Zack. I told them who everyone was. Even though I got out of breath before getting to Quill So he ended up introducing himself through that event. Sasha stood up, “Hey we should go check our classes” She told us. The school was not very big compared to some. Pinion mesa middle was in phelan in California A small town that no one really cared about. Our school had a weird way of classed. Like every day it switched, it started of as a A 1234 day then it went to a b 4123 day and so on. It only switched between a b though, and every day we would have PE or elective in my case it was chorus on b days. The quad was the main area in the school, where there was the outside lunch tables. Then a large stage farther near the end of the cafeteria. A ramp led up to it. A large garage door was split between the inside and outside with a wolverine on it which was the schools mascot. Then if you went to the right there was a large platform holding the flag. Then there was the office. On the office every year at the beginning they posted the classes. Though sometimes it was on a billboard in the middle of the quad.
“We have some weird last names” I said, Quin shrugged. Nathan could care less let alone really pay attention to what I was saying. Quil said something to me, never really noticed what it was. Toboe and Alyssa seemed to be in their siblings classes which was kind of strange. Then I found Carissa glaring at me, “ What a wonderful fate is it to find oyu have the same class as me” She growled, it sort of bothered me why she hated me so much. I didn't like her, but I really did want to like her after all, I had to deal with her every day for the most part. Miranda had the same class as me, so did my friend Deliliah although Anthony said she was not really my friend. Lillian had Mr.Grijalva or room G 32 with Nathan and toboe. Zack I could care less about what class he had, no actually cared what he thought. Actually Aaron even called him it. Ashlee had a class with Quil, I sort of felt bad for her now. Ashlee was another one of my friends, she reminded me of a small fox for the most part. With short brown hair and glasses, she was a good friend to have though. “Good luck Ashlee” Anthony laughed reading over it. “Good luck with what” Ashlee startled me, my head brought itself forward against the glass. Anthony laughed harder as you heard the crack of my head hit the glass. I stepped on his foot and he shut up in pain. “I'll show you later, Or now.” I looked as the Wolf Shifters left the windows. Even I was really the only one who knew, besides themselves. I looked and found Quil messing with some 6th grader, “You have advisory with him” I pointed towards him. Quill lifted his head, like he heard me and walked over. Smirking at Ashlee I smacked my hand against my face. “Hello sweetheart” Quill snickered. Quill was tall I just noticed, then Ashlee plain out punched his shoulder. “You retard” she said angry. I laughed at Quill then joined the other. They introduced themselves to Ashlee and all the indroduction were done for the most part. Your probably wondering what everyone besides Mina, Toboe, Carissa and Alyssa look like. Well to put it short, Quil is a mini version of Jacob. Quin has short blond hair and dark skin. Nathan, he was sort of chubby with dark brown hair. And that was it for the most part. Nothing else I could thing of about them that was fairly important then maybe, no nothing else for the most part. The school bell rang a few minutes after we had checked our classes and had meet a few more people who had not been seen for awhile. We then all separated and headed for our classed. My advisory teachers name was Coach Johnson, we called him that because he was a Coach up at the high school. A lot of the kids were prejudging thinking that this year was going to be hell because he was a coach. I held hands with Anthony as we entered the class room and let go of each other. All the studetns were in the front fo the class waiting to get their seats. The class room was large and open, with seats that were not in groups. It was the classroom seats where they were alone and the seats were connected to the seats. With a bucket under them with the mathbooks inside. The classroom had a large tv next to the white board then Coach johnson's desk was near the wall against the other side of the room. Two windows let the little light if not the lights built into the building. “Okay you can sit wherever you want, but if we have any problems you will be moved. Also keep in mind you may not be sitting there forever, but where you sit is where you will be sitting until then” Coach johnson had a large loud voice. It kept me awake, but for the most part he didn't seem like a mean guy. I didn't like judging people by first site. Number one reason being they could be not very much human. We sat in the very back, Me, Anthony, then Miranda and Carissa sat way in the front in one of the corners. Trying to avoid us I guessed, or avoiding me. Seriously none of the Wolf Shifters had anything against Anthony who was human just like me. “So your done running into trees because me and Anthony are together?” I looked at Miranda as she turned around. “I did not run into a tree” She arugues. “I saw you” “so” “You ran into a tree” “No I didn't” “Yes you did” “No” “Yeah” “No” “Shut up!” Anthony almost said all the way through his throat at us. We stopped talking for a moment only though, a bit scared from Anthony's outburst. We soon got over it, “Yeah you did” I whispered. “No” Miranda replied. “Yeah” Anthony glared at us and we looked away like we had done nothing wrong. Coach jhonson took rol then passed out our classes. Most of my classes had Anthony in them, Miranda only had advisory with me. I pulled a piece of notebook out of my backpack and began to draw on it. Since we had a few minutes till school actually started, Advisory was like free time at school. I was scetching just something that had been in my mind for a long time. Every night I had been thinking of this picture. It was a bloody scene. It had a white and white wolf with a necklace, crying. I was not so sure why, but there was blood over it's muzzle and brains and body parts all over the black ground. The picture sort of scared me bit, but it had nothing to do with my duties as a keeper I was sure. The day went kind of slow, starting with language arts. As we entered class and got our seats, I just so happened to be seated next to Carissa. She kind of scared me of how tall she was and how mature she was as well. As I pulled out my unfinished picture I began drawing it again. Carissa managed to see it and took it out from under my pencil. I pleaded for her to give it back but she ended up ripping it up. “Don't ever draw a wolf crying in blood, it's offensive” Carissa howled. I didn't know how it was offensive but I didn't bother her about it. We went through the normal beginning of the year stuff, parent letter computer agreement. The first day was always the most boring, but it could be worse if you thought about it. I could be in the academy working my butt off to catch some lost ghost cat or something like that. When you looked at the other academy people, I was pretty much lucky. “You have to be kidding me, NO BELLA NO!” I jumped at the noise. Ashlee was reading twilight, a novel by Stephanie meyer, she was an excellent writer I loved her books. Yet, I began to wonder what real Vampries were. Maybe they burned in the sun, or maybe they were something just plain completely different from any Vampires we knew. Who knew, I would eventually find out if I ever met one. From what Bracken has told me, Vampires and Wolf Shifters are not actually natural enemies. They more have a past that is kind of interesting. I suddenly felt like studying it too. When next period came I got permission from Mr.Grijalva to go to the computer lab. There was something odd about Mr. G, he wasn't normal. But, then again I could be wrong, I always felt odd about teachers like him. As I headed towards the quad, Bracken was heading to his class with Liliana. Brcken and Liliana were boyfriend and girlfriend, but Liliana was like my sister so I had to trust Bracken. Liliana had what was called a fake watch, it was powerful like mine but as much and she was not an actual keeper I gave it to her as a symbol of trust sicne she was part of the academy, she was still in training though. “Hey Bracken, can you tell me about that site you told me where it tells you about Wolf Shifters and Vampire's past, the actual truth?” I asked before he could go any farther. He slipped me a piece of paper and then I headed towards the library. Bracken never seemed fond of talking about his breed, made me think I would have to expect the worse. Yet, I was pretty mature about these things since yeah I kind of saved planets and all. Even though I had not really been getting real excitement lately. I opened the door into the computer lab and there was two other kids there. Both had hoods on, which made me think they were up to something. I took a seat though and ignored the hoodies that they were wearing. Then quickly turning on the computer I opened up the site that bracken had given me, there was three parts there was the start so I started with that one. So the Wolf Shifters and Vampire history reading began. Vampires were also known as moon demons. They were feared, they were despised as well, and the first Vampire was never dracuala or anything like that. The first Vampire, was a Wolf Shifter to begin with. His name was Fenris, A young Wolf Shifter who despised his race and antyhing else. In the world of Tosheba where the Wolf Shifters lived, it was harsh during those days. Fenris was the air to become the shaman of his tribe who was the tribe who ruled over the entire five regions. Although Fenris's behavoir changed over the days with his hatred growing. Fenris's younger brother was kind and would be a better shaman then Fenris. So when the time came, Fenris was not to get the thrown. Fenris was angered with his father, attacked him in an outrage. But the bloodshed not only cost him his clan's trust but also his brothers. His brother gave him a second chance to prove himself to the clan, yet the chance for him to prove himself just turned him into a monster. There was a stone that the clan protected, Fenris used it for power, and no longer was he a Wolf Shifter. The sun was his enemy since he had thrown himself into the darkness. It did not mean he couldn't be out in the sun but he just despised it and could no longer take wolf form. They called him a moon demon, the first Vampire. Fenris was immortal and the only way to kill him was to burn him and throw his ashes into a river of scared dreams. That was only Fenris though since he had gained the power of the stone that no longer lived anywhere else then inside of him. His brother ended up killing Fenris, but before his moments of death, he transformed many of the Wolf Shifters into Vampires. But, not all the vampires were evil. After many years passed, Tosheba turned into a world where Vampires rules. Wolf Shifters were now not permited to be in human form. They were used as guard dogs, and hunting dogs for the vampires who needed to feed on blood. Sometimes, a Wolf Shifter would cross over onto earth and steal humans for the three king Vampires to feed on. It was until Daemin stepped in a powerful vampire. The three kings were three different types of Vampires, one was the one that burnt in the sun, the second was the one that felt very uncomfortable in the sun. The third turned human if in the sun. Vampires did not just feed on humans, human souls fed them to make them powerful at the time they didn't know it though so they just fed on animals that the Wolf Shifters caught. Daemin had been hunting humans for centuries now and apposed all the kings, a great war took place then, and the Wolf Shifters sided with Daemin and his vampire friends. After the deafeat, all Vampires were banished to their own world and forever marked as demons of the night. Some fled to earth then one dimension known as Tuin is now home to the vampire empire. So in other words, Vampires are immortal Wolf Shifters who can no longer take wolf form. The story surprised me a bit, that was why they hated each other. They weren't natural enemies, they haed each other because, they were each other. I sighed, I guessed there was more to this story, but I had no time to read the whole thing. So I grabbed my stuff and stood up to look out the window, when the two hooded students were suddenly in front of me. “I see you were looking up the stupid fake story of how Vampires came to be.” I looked at them, “Fake huh, then how did it really happen” I asked leaning against the desk. On of the boys smiled, showing his face that was pale, but he only did it for a second because the sun burnt his face. “Wolf Shifters evolved from Vampires. We would never be decendant from those freaks. Plus, every Vampire knows, they have a animal form that they use to be in the sun. Also those who do not despise humans are banished here to live with them. So if you burn in the sun your screwed. But, you know now since you know that you'll have to die.” They both laughed at me. I rolled my eyes, was I supposed to act all scared, I was a keeper did they no know that? “Your the youngest Keeper are you not, why not join us? The Vampires could use you” One of the Vampire's said coming close to my face. I felt frozen, I couldn't move for some odd reason. The other one that was shorter laughed, their laughs sounded evil. “Surprised” Yeah I was surprised, I swallowed watching the one close to me movements. “A simple bite won't turn you. I wonder how your blood tastes” I tried to force my hand to move to slap him but I couldn't. Nillion the short one explained to me that every Vampire had a power as well, in this case his brother Gallion had the ability to freeze the movements of anyone's body. There was no way to avoid this power too. Nillion's power though was to feel the emotions of a chosen person. I guessed he liked feeling the fear that I felt. I was scared because I knew Bracken would kill me after this was over if they didn't kill me first, they wouldn't kill me surely. I watched as Gallion grabbed my arm and looked me in the eye. He had strange mettallic green eyes, with dark eye liner. “I want to know what your blood taste like. Master told me I could drink your blood but I couldn't drink your soul” Gallion smiled, showing two fang in his mouth. The bell rang, startlign the Vampires. Nillion covered his ears and turned into a hawk, without thinking I pushed by Gallion and grabbed the hawk stuffing Nillion into my backpack. Gallion hissed at me, showing me whiskers. As he tried to grab to grab me I jumped up and landed on his head, smashing it into the floor. Then he grabbed my leg and tripped me making me drop my backpack. I kicked Gallion and he threw a piece of paper at me, then he ran away . I grabbed the piece of paper and my backpack with Nillion in it, it was time for lunch. I would not be speaking a word of this to anyone, it was lucky enough I did not get one scratch on me.
Chapter 4 As I walked out of the computer lab my heart was racing, I tried to calm myself down, but it was hard. I was still confused on the whole Vampire and Wolf Shifter thing, but I could always figure it out later. I was not that worried about it, I started down the ramp towards my table with my friends. It looked like I was the first one there as well, so I decided to keep the piece of paper for later reading. “Hey, Abby, do you know where liliana went?” I shook my head as Bracken sat down across from me. Anthony was reading the school paper. He threw it down on the table in front of me. As I skimmed over it, it said that there were kids going missing. So far, they had no leads. “You think this has to do anything with the Shadow breakers?” I asked as he sat down. I began to wonder what those vampires said by master told me I couldn't drink your soul. I knew if your soul was goen you were dead even as a keeper, but hey did they need me alive? 'Calm down, otherwise they're all going to notice' Arashi told me. Arashi was a big bear in my inner world. Everyone had their own inner world, those things we called imaginary friends were not just imaginary. It just seemed over the years our souls disconnected, sometimes though some got to keep themselves in touch with their inner world. I also had Yuki a large skinny ice dragon who was probably good for nothing in some terms. My backpack moved, making a strange muffled noise. I had almost forgot that Nillion was in there. I punched the bag and hopefully no one would ask about the noise. I looked up and saw Aaron and Sasha sit down to eat. Something was odd about Sasha, I didn't know what. It was like the same but opposite feeling from Mr.Grijalva. “What's in your backpack” Sasha asked me. I grabbed it and tried to squeeze it to shut the bird up. Yet, instead it backfired and he squaked. “Let me see that thing!” She demanded everyone looked at me. “No” “Yes” “No, please” “Give me it person” I finally gave up and lifted my backpack onto the table. As she stretched to grab it I held on tightly as she tugged. This was a stupid vmapire who didn't know how to keep his beak shut. Sasha tore it from my hands finally, I nibbled on my food, as she opened it and the Hawk came flying out. “SQUAK!” Nillion exclaimed and landed onto the table. He narrowed his eyes at me and spread open it's wings. He roared at me, well as loud as a bird could. “What the heck a bird?” Lillian jumped back from the table falling upon the ground. I stood up and sat on the table. Anthony starred at me. I put my hand near Nillion and he pecked right through it. “What in the world!” I yelled holding on to my wrist. Miranda looked over and looked away. “I think I hit my head too hard on that tree” I couldn't blam her. Why would I have a bird, let alone a big one like this, in my back pack. Nillion lifted his beak from my hand and Anthony grabbed it. “What the hell is this” I looked at Anthony. There was no need for cuss words here was there. I opened the piece of paper, deciding to read it now. Then noticed, I knew the writer. “Dear Abby, it's nice to see your getting along with the world. It's been awhile since I've seen you. You rmember me right? #66, I was the one who tricked Sora in that incedent. Remember, you still got that thing inside of you so that might be a problem. Blood stained voer the wall my friend. Because look out, your school's doom is coming” It was from #66 of the shadow breaker council and from Zero. Zero must have been a newcomer. I held onto the piece of paper blood soaking through it. It ripped and fell onto the table. “Your nuts you know that!” Quill said. They let the bird go since I refused to tell them what happened, they also erased everyones memory that didn't really need to know about it. I set my hand against the table and someone grabbed my collor. I was startled and slapped him in the face, noticing it was Seth. Seth was a friend of my older brother who I killed, so Seth knew from the start about the dimensions. I thought he was human, but he told me that he wasn't. He never told me what he was though and he grabbed my hand and wrapped it up. He told me I should have been more careful, but I really ignored him. I made him let go and started towards the library. I didn't feel like talking about anything. Seth grabbed me. “Come on Abby, tell me what's wrong” I clenched my fists, I didn;t know what was wrong that was why it had me mad. Suddenly I felt a force full me back. Like I was drifting away from my body. It faded away and I went into darkness, then suddenly everything blasted out. I was not in the school quad anymore, infact I was not quiet sure where I was. I was in Mr.Grijalva's class, but it wasn't his class. As he moved around, I knew he couldn't see me. Everything was white, besides for peeling pieces of the place that let in color. It confused me a little. Over the rows of the tables Mr.Grijalva lifted his head and looked at me but then shook his head and turned away. I back up into the back counter jumping on it. Crouching with my feet near the blocked up sink in the lab. I looked at the floor, everything was like burning away but it wasn't exactly moving. “Get over here” I jumped only to find myself being grabbed by claws and being pinned tot eh ground. It was Arashi with his big huge furry bear body. His long white claws helped me up and I looked out the window to see Yuki just waiting guarding the door. Arashi sat me up on a table his yellow eyes looked at me. “This doesn't look like my inner world” I said looking around. Arashi shook his head. “I don't know what this place is, but somehow we were pulled out of your soul, and we ended up here. Then a few minutes after you ended up here. This is no normal place, it's like your a ghost but you can see and hear everyone like they are fading away.” I looked around. As the bell rang, yet it was far away. I got off the table and headed out the door, there was Seth holding my body along with Anthony and Aaron trying to find help. When it finally did, they pulled my body in the office to the nurse's office. I started walking towards the front gate, Yuki silently followed behind. I was curious, was I allowed to leave the school? As I opened the front gate I looked at the parking lot, and I stepped forward and out onto the street. As a car passed by it went right through me. This was crazy “Your confused aren't you” A wolf like creature jumped down from a tree with a smile. He was a lycan, you might be thinking Lycan as in wolf shifter but they were a entirely different race. Lycan's had a human like wolf form and the ability that uncontrolable to make humans think they want to die. Some have even been driven to suicide by Lycans. Not all were evil though, just they had to learn to control their wolf forms over time. The lycan had brown fur, and had strong steel claws. With bright green eyes and a gray tail lighter then the rest of his body. “This is the drifting world. Once a dimension that lived among the earth. It began to burn away a long time ago and turned into this. It's still burning away though, and at times people are forced here. I've been here for a few days” He said crossing his furry arms. “Yuki go back with Arashi, We'll find out how to get out of here later.” Yuki was about to protest but snorted out some ice over me and flew back. I wanted to find more about this place. The lycan told me his name was Jake, and he offered me to walk with him to the elementary school. “So your telling me, you've been stuck here for some time now?” I asked sitting down on a swing. The lycan climbed to the top and sat above me. “Not a very long time, but it would have been a week in your time. One day here is like two days in the real world” He said and watched me. Hopefully we could find a way to get out of this mess, if I stayed to long everyone would die before I did. That wouldn't very good would it. It was strange, how this world worked. It wasn't like you could ever think of. Black and white, no colors except for the rips that showed themselves in certain places. “I heard that number 66 is keeping kids spirits in here, that way they are easy to control as slaves. But, I've never seen one.” Jake said. As he got up and looked around. Arashi was right in front of us when he pointed at the field in the middle school. “I'll get you out of here sometime, but I have to go.” I said and waved my goodbye to the Lycan. I entered Mr. Grijalva's room. Everyone sat down and got ready to learn, well at least some anyhow. Sasha got into her seat right next to mine where I sat. “Where's Abby?” The teacher asked. Sasha pointed at the nurses office sign on the door. After he nodded she returned to her paper, misty eyed. I snapped my fingers in front of her to see if I could get her attention. With no luck I turned back to the door, “Darn it” I sighed. I clenched my hands together, suddenly heard a whimper. I turned around and saw Ashlee huddled in the corner of the room, except, she wasn’t in the reality world she was in the same space as I. “Abby?” she said, clenching her knees closer to her chest. She looked so pathetic and scared, it mad me mad. “Ashlee, they got you already? How?” I came towards her and her eyes clenched shut. “Hey, calm down” I said putting a hand on her shoulder. She looked at me and loosened up, “Where are we?” She asked blinking at me. I looked at the burning world, “An inbetween dimension that’s burning away. Eventually it’ll be gone forever.” I said looking at the ground. “This can’t be happening” She held her hair like she was going to pull it out. I grabbed her shoulders tightly and shook her, “Hey, clam down I’ll get you out of here.” I promised. I looked around, how were we going to get out of here? I thought, suddenly an explosion made me automatically shield Ashlee from it, burning my back a little bit from the heat. I looked up and found Mina sitting on her dragon, with a huge rip into the burning dimension. Everything was starting to spread, and images were fading, peeling away. “Jezus christ Mina, blow up the entire world why don’t you?” Mina scratched her black hair, “Sorry, I was dying my hair” I grabbed Ashlee and jumped on the dragon. “Holy shiz, that was....weird” Ashlee said when we were back at school. Mina had flown off on Striker, considering the fact that everyone would freak at the sign of a dragon.
