Memories

I figured I would write a poem about something many, if not all, could relate to. I was always a girl who dreamed and fantasized when she should have been doing something else. I really miss these times...

Do you remember a time

When the eldest sibling seemed old?

The sky was filled with dancing animals

And the sun always beamed in gold

The world was completely safe

With love in every heart

Afternoons was filled with so much fun and laughter

That no one ever knew where to start

Every where seemed like an adventure

Imagination was the greatest tool

Your parents' disappointment was the main fear

Worries only came up in school

These times were all so simple

Memories treasured throughout the years

Some filled with only love and tenderness

Others left in anger and tears

No matter what emotion came

It left before the day could end

In the times when everything seemed all right

When your family were your greatest friends

Author's Note

I haven't wrote a poem like this one in awhile and I figured why not? I loved my childhood and I know I can't be the only one.
