A poem about ambitions.

Never did I thought, 

I'd ever want to join the fight.

The fight for freedom, for love, for loss, 

For country and pride.

For my homeland.

Never did I thought,

I'd be strong enough.

The weakness in my bones,

 wouldn't hold me back.

Nothing would. 

I wanted to grow stronger.

Never did I thought,

I'd be influenced so much,

by one mere Veteran's day parade.

Those men and women,

marching proud and tall,

 in their dress blues.

At that moment,

I knew I wanted to be one of them.

Never did I thought,

I'd be a recruit in a matter of months.

All I ponder about,

Is earning that eagle, globe, and anchor.

All day and night.

Someday.

I will be a United States Marine.

This one goes to show of the need for us as people to keep our eyes on whatever prize we seek. Very nice. You seem very focused and sure of yourself.

Nice read, it makes me wonder for the reason why he/she wan't to become a marine.
One can't help but think what changed his/her views.

I personally preffer it a bit mysterious and open, leaves alot up to the reader
