A Liar So Good

A Liar So Good

A Poem by Senu Jayasinghe

A Liar So Good

I wish I were a liar,
a liar so good
I could make anyone believe
I am sane.

A liar so good
they’d hear me laugh
and swear I was happy.

A liar so good
I could convince myself
that I have done my best.

A liar so good
I wait for a life,
a life worth living,
waiting for something
I know is missing.

A liar so good
that I could finally
believe myself.
