America Fights Back

A poem I dedicated and wrote to my dad when he was in Iraq. I wrote this 4/16/04 when I was a Sophomore in high school. My dad came back for good in '06.

 

 

 

 America is fighting back

My dad is in Iraq.

I never knew what I had.

Saying goodbye made me sad.

When we were at the airport,

I saw mixed emotions when they began to board.

I get emails from him some days,

but it's just not the same.

Every day I try to be stronger,

but I don't want him gone any longer.

I now say the pledge with pride,

and I know God is on my side.

cool poem i like the fact that you support the troops i support the troops not the war. I know that over half the soldiers are their be cause they are poor and its the only legal way to make money or they are in it for college For ever solider and their family God bless you and my they be home soon.
