Moonlit Sunset

Moonlit Sunset

A Poem by Eternal Twilight

I sit in the warm sand,
as I watch the setting sun.
Watching I ponder,why?
Why must I miss on all the fun?
My friends from childhood,gone.
I am so alone.

Sighing,waiting,wanting.
These things I do when alone.
A quiet voice streams through my head.
"You are not alone,not anymore."
Calmly I look side to side, hearing
the voice echo around me.

More voices join in,softly
they whisper to me.
A faint smile creeps onto
my face.
As tears trickle down my cheek
not from sorrow,not of pain,
but of gladness.
Glad to know how many friends
I have.

I look out into the ocean again.
As silver waves shine with
crests of dim moonlight.
I close my eyes and sigh.
Feeling warm arms embrace me.
I gasp, turning my head and see
you.....Mark.
With all our precious friends.

"Light you are never alone. So never forget,
we will always be here. You will never have
any regrets."
