Forgetting the Past

Forgetting the Past

A Poem by Eternal Twilight

 I've forgetting the happy days
when I was a child:
The gentleness of my grandmother's
heart-warming smile;
The laughter my whole family
used to share.
Now, too often,
tempers flare.

How can I keep my past
from slipping away,
Without there being
a price to pay?
I don't know-
Can I run away, or hide?
I guess I'll wait, and let my mind-
or heart- decide.
