Desperately Despairing

Maybe the title is a bit misleading...

Your deadly allure is just like a drug,
You make me feel high; can't we just leave it at hugs?
Day by day your announcement grows near,
An announcement I want but can't bear to hear.
But one day you leave, no trace, in the morn,
And I feel released; I feel reborn.
