Screw Valentines day.

This is my argument on why I hate Valentines day.

    People in love express it daily. I am sick of having people become severely depressed because of this hallmark holiday. It basically tells people that if they aren't in a relationship they suck.

  •  Ahem, Depression is not caused by Valentine's day. Depression is a mental illness, and caused by chemical imbalances in the brain. It makes people sad/lonely, not depressed. It's honestly just one day for gifts and stuff, and though it should be expressed daily, this is a day for love, and it's going to happen every year, so it should just be delt with..

  •  I meant dealing with it in a way that's not being bitter and ruining it for those who are happy. I bet if you were in a relationship you'd love the day. Being single isn't a valid reason to hate the day.

    Don't put love in quotation marks, that's not needed.
    It's actually pretty immature to complain about the day. It's going to happen every year for the rest of your life, so it's best to learn how to deal.

    i'm not "whining" because i'm alone, it is a stupid holiday that makes single people feel like s**t. Have i ever whined that a friend was in a relationship? No. I'm just sick of... my friends feeling like a*s and having a holiday making them feel worse and unloved because no one bought them a rose.

hey, my opinion is this:
It SHOULD be renamed Singles' Awareness Day. I'm Single, I'm aware of it, and in most cases, I'm ENJOYING it.
