Bitter Goodbye

What is there left of me
After what's been taken away
This empty hollow
Were my heart was once nestled
Echoes uncomfortably in the stillness

How do I put to rights
What was broken and scattered
If the pieces no longer seem to fit

What's left after the end
Nothing but the smoke and ashes
And the long bitter goodbye

This was absolutely beautiful. It made me really sad and I have to say you've ruined my day! Lol. On the other hand, it flowed beautifully and I could really feel the emotion pulsing under the words. It was very powerful and very effective. Great job.
