Pinky & Her Toy

Pinky & Her Toy

A Poem by Shalini Dinesh

PINKY & HER TOY

Pinky was in real joy
It was her birthday,
Her dad gifted her a toy
A cute Barbie to play!

Pinky named it Casey,
Adorned the doll with clips,
To beautify it was easy,
She chose pink for its lips.

She held Casey during sleep,
Suddenly she heard a voice,
Pinky slowly started to peep,
Saw Casey singing in rejoice.

Pinky rubbed her little eyes,
Couldn’t believe what she saw,
She felt it was cute and nice,
Looked up at Casey in awe.

Together they both sang,
Till the sun came up high,
Then she hear a loud bang,
Let out a deep sigh.

Her mom woke her from sleep,
Gave her thick milk with cream,
She found Casey was still asleep,
Realized it was all her dream.

A very nice story. Toys give children entertainment and friendship. I like this kind and sweet story. I like the surprise ending. A excellent poem.

Awe....so sweet. I used to dream about these ballet toeshoes that I wanted for Christmas. They were expensive and my parents weren't sure if they could get them or not. I would dream about dancing in them.

Such a cute poem. I love the picture too!

WOW! What a wonderful poem. I really enjoyed it. I remember being a child and believing my teddy bear was real and came alive late at night. And yes it broke my heart when I found out it wasn't true. Thank you for bringing my childhood memories back and memories of my very special teddy. I look forward to reading more of your work. Keep it up. Thanks again.

Love
