Will you talk with me, she asked the Sun I feel the need for conversation, but so few want to talk in words and sentences and hopes or dreams any more...
But the sun was too busy... a schedule to keep many skymiles to travel before half the world woke from sleep.
Will you Moon, pause a while... share some thoughts, ideas, smiles conversation seems rare in these times and sharing experiences reduced to generic symbols or one word lines.
But the moon was readying for a busy night, aligning with stars shining bright.
Earth... she ventured... but Earth simply said - there are almost 8 billion souls living with me, some just waking, some going to bed surely there's some who still enjoy conversation, spread out across my many nations?
One would think so, she replied whimsically... people just don't seem to converse much any more. *
this is so good and so pertinent to these times we are in now.
As a universal piece of writing it depicts the lack of communication, real communication. We have become a world of texting, of curbed words on a screen, on a violation of language.
But it also reminds me of my old days of conversation...as a college student in the 60's---
and the long, long talks we had over cigarettes or a bit of weed...
face to face....yes, i do remember that....something that was already lost, and now is lost-er ...
because of the sheltering in place...that has so many of us in a bad place, missing the touch and sound of others close to us or not close to us.
Yes, they just don't seem to converse any more.

And worse then curbed words - emoji symbols replacing words altogether.
In a time when of social disruption and distancing, when Social Media could be society’s saving grace, instead of using written words to communicate, people hit the like button or heart button, a billion mindless thumbs ups replacing real conversations.
I too miss the days when we, friends, people, talked through to the morning hours ... met at coffee shops for long convoluted conversations about life and the world... I miss old fashioned mail and 3 page letters....
... not all change is good.
