THE LAST FRAILTY

                                                                                             

                                     

                                                                    

 monstrous sound slashes the silence              

the bellow of a giant beast

 the flutter of a thousand wings

elevations and indiscriminate creed will not heed

sinister stirs the mix

the rise of wicked’s extravagance

black feathers flutter and bewilder against the palest frontier

the mock of a starlings flight

a fall in the sparrow’s light

countless sullen wings unfold

rally their squadrons for show

a mobbing cry meets a redeeming sky

their rising tones mimic heaven heralding

contrast to the core

countless black rap-tor destroy the fading blue sapphire

a rebel twist in the storm suspends them again

a harbingers dawning

a verge of wonder

stand and eye the small dark outlines

bask a golden moon  

peripheries slight motion

a graceful shimmer perched as a doom

with the snap of fingers

a single feather falls slight in cascade

turning the elegant dance of a ballerina's descent

laying at the step vaguely pointing to the door

the pride of a black bird

has no place here

the last frailty is hidden near and dear

Something like fear was pulling at the edges of my mind while I was reading this. Darkness seeping in like dye at the borders of a wet cloth... nearer and nearer to the center. Captivating.

I love Hitchcock, big influence growing up. I remember having nightmare's about birds. This is simply me drawing a line .... no more omens.

an anxious foreboding in this one. feels like something sinister is looming. a final warning. very smooth phrasing with fantastic imagery. a great, creative metaphor. made me think of Alfred Hitchcock's 'The Birds'. you write so well, is always a pleasure. there is much to like as you take us for a walk on the dark side ...
