Touch Me

Touch Me

A Poem by Shelbia

I sit in my corner and I watch you flit by
And I swallow the tears that aren't mine to cry.
I just want you to touch me, my hand or my heart.
Wish you could love me , but touching's a start.
I've loved you forever, you're my secret dream,
But you can't even see me  or hear my heart scream
I just want you to touch me make my heart soar,
It would only be crumbs,  but I won't ask for more.

I sit on my back porch and stare at the moon.
Keep hoping a lost star will fall for me soon,
I want to be more than just  your invisible friend,
Want to tell you I love you, stop playing pretend.
But things haven't turned out quite like I planned
If you can't even see me, you can't understand.
Just want you to touch me, know that I'm there,
If you would only look you'd see that I care,
I just want you to touch me, look into my eyes.
Make me your woman not just  one of the guys.
