How things can change in your life and change how you see things
To handle unexpected gifts Is always unbelievable To
handle unexpected horrors Is always
unbelievable
To learn that you're
three months pregnant Is a
freighting and unexpected gift Knowing
that theirs a gift on its way
That
you’ll be raising a child fatherless That
shall grow like a flower In a garden Need
to be feed and taken cared of cherished
and loved
You’ll fear the worse
But you’ll get control back And live your life In
new eyes
To learn that you
caught a STD While having a one
night stand Is totally unexpected
and unbelievable You'll wonder why
this happened to you You’ll fear the
worse But you’ll get control back And live your life
In
new eyes Both terrifying and
unexpected Things in your life Shall always turn your life Into something better As
you travel down that path..
It's good that you took the optimistic viewpoint and made it the foundation of the theme of the poem. It does sound pretty scary and bleak as the events unfold and I thought you were going to aim for the viewpoint of: See this is what can happen if you don't wise up. But you made it more reassuring in the face of stress and uncertainty. Nice job.
Bittersweet and honest. I hope it is not autobiographical. If it is you will make the best of it. Live and learn. If not, this is still a powerful write.
Life is sometime easy and most times hard. You told a sad story of disappointment and re-awakening. No-one learn the easy way. I like this poem. Direct and to the point. Your ending left some hope and possibility. A excellent poem.
