Hateful LoveA Poem by ShhhhLove sickness
The boy has a shiver down his spine
He is certain this must be a portentous sign His stomach is a gymnast, flipping all around His heart is a drum, fast-beating with loud sound He cries and he cries, days upon days Hoping this will only be a very short phase He is beginning to feel faint Images blurred with splattered paint He throws himself on his bed Fills his mother up with dread "Son! Son! Why do you tread?! What is it? Tell me so I can see" "At school, I saw this new girl named Lily Her soft voice and silky hair has placed butterflies in my tummy I can't calm down unless I get the hug from my mummy" The mother laughs a very hearty chuckle Her eyes brightened to the color of honeysuckle "My dear son, you have been shot by Cupid's arrow You are a victim of such sweet sorrow Your heart has been strucken with love Let it fly as free as a dove For this beautiful curse will not always be You really just need to see Love is a seed; tend to it and it will grow But if you are ignorant, love you shall never know
