As I stand mutely watching

As I stand mutely watching,

The situation quickly worsening,

I find myself frustrated,

As there is nothing that I can do.

 

At one time I would be there,

In the middle of the action,

Working to bring reason,

To a problem quite vexing.

 

But now I am nothing but a bystander,

My abilities stripped away,

So instead of taking action,

I stand mutely watching.
